The revolutionary skin-tightening device that delivers immediate lifting and long-term collagen renewal by treating all three layers of your skin at once.
XERF is not just another radiofrequency (RF) device. It is a groundbreaking medical technology and the world's first multifrequency monopolar RF device capable of safely and effectively penetrating the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue simultaneously.
While most skin-tightening treatments work on a single layer — leaving you with incomplete results — XERF provides a comprehensive solution for transformative, lasting lifting and firming with minimal discomfort and zero downtime.
Immediate tissue contraction at the surface, smoothing texture and giving a visible lift you can see right away.
Gently heats existing collagen to tighten it while stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin over time.
Remodels the skin's support structure for significant lifting and contouring of the jawline, cheeks, and neck.
Results last 18+ months — significantly longer than traditional single-layer RF treatments.
No recovery time required, so you can return to your day immediately after treatment.
FDA 510(k) cleared, with over 100,000 treatments performed across 40+ countries.

Ideal candidates have mild to moderate skin laxity and want a non-surgical option. XERF is suitable for most skin types and tones.
No — it doesn't hurt at all, and most people genuinely like the way it feels. You'll feel controlled heat and warmth as the energy is delivered into the skin. Most patients describe it as a deep, comfortable warmth rather than anything painful.
There's no downtime — most people walk out glowing and go straight back to their day. You may notice mild redness and warmth for 1–2 hours, slight swelling for 1–2 days in more sensitive areas, and temporary mild tenderness.
That depends on your age, skin elasticity, and overall skin quality. Many patients notice an initial tightening quickly, but the best results develop over time as XERF stimulates your body's natural collagen production — think instant glow plus progressive tightening. Your skin keeps working long after your treatment, with results continuing to improve over the following months.
There is no single number, and the honest answer is that results build over weeks and then fade gradually at a pace that depends on your age, skin, lifestyle, and treatment plan. The published XERF studies so far follow patients for up to three months, so any longer figure should be treated as an expectation, not a guarantee.
What the XERF studies show. In a prospective multicenter study of 39 adults who received two XERF sessions four weeks apart, clinicians rated 84.6% of patients as improved at 30 days and 92.3% at 90 days, and no lasting adverse events were reported (Weiss et al., 2026). In a retrospective review of 16 women who had a single session, facial volume redistributed, the brows and upper eyelids rose progressively, and wrinkle scores improved significantly at three months but not yet at one month, which tells us the benefit develops with time rather than appearing all at once (Erlich et al., 2026). Neither study followed patients past three months, so there is not yet published XERF data on how long the improvement lasts after that.
Why results develop over weeks. Radiofrequency energy heats the deeper layers of skin. Laboratory work on radiofrequency devices found that collagen fibrils contract right after treatment and that skin cells then increase type I collagen gene activity (Zelickson et al., 2004), which is why the visible change keeps developing after you leave the office. In an early clinical series, visible tightening generally appeared within about three months, and 14 of 15 patients improved when followed for 6 to 14 months (Ruiz-Esparza and Gomez, 2003).
What we know about durability from related radiofrequency treatments. These are studies of older monopolar radiofrequency devices, not XERF, so treat them as context. In 50 patients with cheek and neck laxity, tightening was still evident six months after a single treatment, though the authors noted that the long-term duration had not been determined (Alster and Tanzi, 2004). In 66 patients treated for lower face laxity, 92% showed measurable improvement at six months, while objective skin-stiffness measurements diminished over time (Bogle et al., 2007). A survey of 5,700 facial treatments found that 54% of patients saw tightening six months after treatment (Dover and Zelickson, 2007). Together these studies point to improvement that is real, gradual, and not permanent.
Why no skin-tightening treatment is permanent. Skin keeps aging after treatment. Collagen production falls with age because the fibroblasts that make it become less active (Varani et al., 2006), so a treatment can improve how your skin looks and feels, but it cannot stop the clock. Sun exposure, smoking, weight changes, hormonal shifts, and the amount of laxity you start with all affect how long you keep your results.
What to expect at Gen Aesthetics. Nurse practitioner Genni Lehnert-Beers, FNP-C, will assess your skin at a consultation, explain what is realistic for your face and neck, and plan any follow-up sessions with you. Individual results vary, and a consultation is required to determine whether XERF is right for you. Call 719.331.8189 or book online.
Absolutely. XERF is equally effective for male skin, which is typically 25% thicker than female skin. Men particularly appreciate it for jawline definition, neck tightening, and reducing under-eye bags.
XERF is safe for patients with melasma and won't trigger pigmentation issues like some lasers can. The controlled RF energy doesn't affect melanin.
